– OrthoAccel Technologies, Inc., developers of the AcceleDent System which is an acceleration device for orthodontics, today announced that it has added a new member to the executive management team. Michael E. Kaufman joined OrthoAccel as the new Vice President of Business Development and Marketing.
Mike Lowe, President and CEO of OrthoAccel, said, “We are very excited about having Mike’s extensive business development and expertise folded into our market plans at OrthoAccel. As a Texas Emerging Technology Fund awardee and Gulf Coast RCIC company, OrthoAccel is also very proud to have created an executive management job right here in Houston.” In addition to Kaufman’s marketing skills and expertise, he is a biomedical engineer with 28 years in the biologics and medical device fields. He has also held numerous positions in product development, executive-level marketing, and business development.
Kaufman said, “I am pleased to join the OrthoAccel management team and believe the technological innovations being developed to more quickly treat malocclusion and straighten teeth will be well received by the orthodontic community and patient. The technology potentially is a game changer in dental care.”
The Company has plans to introduce the AcceleDent System in Europe in September at the 2009 British Orthodontic Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland.
