Groundbreaking Orthodontic Device that Speeds up Treatment Now Available in 2,000 Locations

Rapid adoption of AcceleDent continues as company advances orthodontic innovation with two new issued patents

HOUSTON (Jan. 12, 2015) OrthoAccel® Technologies, Inc. announces that the company’s groundbreaking AcceleDent® device is now available in 2,000 orthodontic locations across the U.S. An FDA-cleared medical device that works in conjunction with orthodontics, AcceleDent speeds up treatment by as much as 50 percent with 20 minutes of daily use. As one of the first major orthodontic innovations in more than 15 years, the distinct nature of AcceleDent’s technology has been solidified with two new patents for OrthoAccel issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patents are related to the company’s proprietary SoftPulse® Technology.

In addition to its latest growth milestones, the company reports that in a recent independent study, 100 percent of patients surveyed say that AcceleDent is easy to use and that they were satisfied with their experience using the technology.

“More patients are asking their orthodontists about accelerated treatment with AcceleDent, and more orthodontists are eager to offer AcceleDent because of the positive patient results,” said Mike Lowe, OrthoAccel’s president and CEO. “As the leader in accelerated orthodontics, it’s important that OrthoAccel continue to gain the trust of orthodontists from across the country. We believe the best way to do that is through helping to improve the patient experience by continually driving advances in orthodontic innovation.

Dr. John Graham, a globally renowned orthodontic lecturer, educator and innovator who was one of the first in the country to offer AcceleDent, says AcceleDent is such a groundbreaking innovation because it gives patients what they’ve always wanted – faster treatment – and because it allows orthodontists to differentiate their practices through technology while growing their business.

“By offering accelerated treatment with AcceleDent, I’m able to make my patients’ orthodontic experience faster and more pleasant as many of my patients report less discomfort when using AcceleDent,” said Graham, who has practices in Phoenix, Ariz. and Salt Lake City, Utah. “In more than a decade of practicing orthodontics, I’ve used several types of accelerated treatment options but none compare to AcceleDent’s ability to provide faster treatment without compromising quality results.”

As leading orthodontists continue to share compelling case studies with their peers, the number of practice locations offering AcceleDent continues to grow. “Ultimately our goal is to improve patients’ journeys to healthy, beautiful smiles. We believe that’s a shared goal of every orthodontist and anticipate AcceleDent will become standard of care for our industry,” said Lowe.
