This role will be part of the business intelligence team and support a wide range of business decisions through analytics ranging from operational to strategic. Basic operating decisions include product positioning or pricing. Strategic business decisions include priorities, goals and directions at the broadest level. The position will effectively combine data derived from the market in which OATI operates (external data) with data from OATI sources internal to the business such as financial and operations data (internal data). Combined, external and internal data will provide a more complete picture which, in effect, creates an “intelligence” that cannot be derived by any singular set of data. Additionally, this position will work to support sales operations and identify and monitor competitors, research market conditions or changes in the industry that may affect sales and involves examining pricing, sales activity, methods of marketing and distribution as well as analyzing data on past sales to predict future sales. This role increases the effectiveness and efficiencies of the Sales & Marketing efforts through both data analysis and strategic thinking with the technical knowledge and the business intelligence acumen to provide timely and relevant information to drive insights and actions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Use available internal and external resources to gather and collect data from a wide variety of sources, to include query development, designing report architecture, review of raw data to highlight trends and validate for accuracy. This would result in translating a wide range of sales and marketing data into financial terms.
-Develop key financial models for any business architecture changes or updates.
-Drive sales operations efforts through coordinating sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the sales organization while proactively maintaining high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency.
-Support the equitable assignment of sales force quotas and ensure quotas are optimally allocated to all sales channels and resources.
-Provide standard revenue and performance reporting/analysis, quarterly business reviews, build new reports/sales tools, and additional ad hoc analysis for sales management and field teams.
-Support company strategic initiatives through collecting and analyzing raw data around ad hoc projects such as customer onsite inventory analysis, promotional ROI data and input, product lifecycle analysis, etc. and translate to meaningful information.
– Support pricing committee projects and develop and maintain pricing structures and sensitivity models around campaigns, promotional activities, ASP’s and other business models to drive pricing standards within yearly operating guidelines.
-Work closely with the Regional Sales Directors to assist in driving team plans and objectives at the territory level.
-Serve as data steward on data management such as CRM and third party applications.
-Act as liaison between sales and IT for data collection and reporting through ERP systems.
-Identify, interpret and communicate market conditions in the orthodontic markets globally.
-Support sales training efforts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
-BS/BA degree required
-2+ years of experience in data analysis and/or analytical role preferably within a Sales & Marketing environment.
-Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills required
–Excellent advanced mathematical, financial, analytical and technical skills required
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
BS/BA degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics studies preferred
-Experience working with SQL, MS Access, or other database tools preferable
-Experience using SalesForce.Com or similar CRM system.
-Experience working with ERP systems and IT/Data warehouse teams preferable. SAP Business ByDesign a plus but not required.
-Ability to deal with highly confidently information and analyze in a timely manner.
-Ability to work independently and within a team.
-Ability to multi-task with high degree of accuracy.
-Ability to work with large amounts of data while maintaining accuracy.
